Firstly before anyone says anything, she isnt mine, ive just been told about her via a friend!! Im just going to cope & paste what i was sent:

"I have a story for you, a friend has shared this with me hoping that we can find a happy ending. She had another friend whose lifes ambition was to breed a successful racehorse, he got himself a broodmare and she obligingly produced a filly and a colt for him both by very expensive well bred stallions. Sadly he was not to see his passion fulfilled and has passed away, leaving his lovely unhorsey wife with the horses, she has found homes for the mare and colt. The poor filly is now 2 and she needs to find her a home, as i said his wife has no real knowledge or experience with horses. The filly has had a little handling but not much, she also cribs and windsucks. Is there anyone who can offer this filly a kind experienced home, or does anyone know anybody who could. Apart from her vices, my friend says she is beautiful little thoroughbred filly with exceptional breeding. I will be happy to put people in touch."

The filly is free to the right home, at present she is being stabled 24/7 & just having her food/hay pushed through the door, the wife is very unhorsey & is in an awful situation through no fault of her own. If anyone feels they can help please do PM me & i can pass the relevant info on. Thanks :)

I'd be on the phone to the WHW this morning OP.

There was also a post on here yesterday from a lady looking for a companion.

I'll try and find it.

I saw that post yesterday Amymay, but i think it was an old one that was dragged up. I dont actually know who it is with the filly, its through a friend of a friend. Just hope she finds a home soon!

Hi - yes found it. You're right it was old.

Filly sounds as if she needs some urgent help. Get friend to get in contact with the welfare organisations - urgently.

If she was closer i'd be there tonight in the trailer to get her. Project number six!!!!

Hope she finds a home real soon, she would be better of dumped in the field with hay been thrown over the fence. Poor thing not surprised it windsucks.

TBH, the "wordyness" of the sob story sounds remarkably like those begging spam emails you get from cancer sufferers in Africa who want to leave you all their money if you give them your bank details and I would treat this in exactly the same way - DELETE!

Trust me it is genuine, though yes it is a sob story i guess & the wording is not of my choice! I trust my friend who has told me about her & shes been my friend for many many years! Though its hardly asking you for any money is it? Its asking if anyone out there could offer this filly a home & the home will be vetted she wont be going to just anybody!

Fair enough, but it is also a good example of why people absolutely should not breed any animal, basically on a whim. If the man hadn't died, and his foals had proved to be not suitable as racehorses, what would he have done with them, and would he have just carried on trying to breed one? There is quite enough of that going on in the professional racehorse world and the resulting stories about the unsucessful ending up on the menu in London restaurants or in tins of Pedigree Chum are testiment to it I'm afraid.

I hope this filly gets sorted out. Her life sounds very miserable.
