TB Owners - Need class suggestions

Help - we need to come up with a couple more suggetions for classes for Thorougbreds only for an In-Hand Show. We're trying to change the schedule from the July show and have amalgamated a couple of age classes, got rid of a couple of classes, included classes like local, male, female, etc, but we're now in need of two new classes to include - so can you think of any? We need to get the Schedule to print in a weeks time so are anxious to get this sorted immediately. All sensible suggestions gratefully received. Thanks.

If you have your main classes sorted, the obvious ones, why not go for a couple of fun classes like an exemption dog show? You could have prettiest filly, handsomest lad, best six legs, most obedient or who the judge would most like to take home!

After all, you can get pretty horses with the worst legs designed that could never win a normal class!

Bossandbelle - Broodmare - Got that already.

Scotsmore - Handy TB- Don't think suitable for In-Hand show.
Sparklet - Pleasure TB - Don't know how this would be judged.

MFH:09 - Thanks for the suggestions but think this may be more appropriate for a juniors show - although we do have Scars and Blemishes class.

Htobago - Got it plus extra awards for Highest Placed Yearling, 2 yo. and 3 yo.

So any more thoughts? Would it be easier if I put a list of the classes we're definitely got? See, it's hard to come up with them isn't it!

Can I just hi jack a little and ask advice on what 'type' class we could do if any?? I wouldn't know if he's a hack/riding horse type, show hunter type or what? Penniless help

Okay nikkiportia - from what we see in front of us (and having competed in Show Hack/Riding Horses/Hunters for 30 years) - we'd be inclined to say that if you want to do one of the "type" classes - then go for the Show Hunter type. There is no way he is a show hack - needs to be small, elegant and very extravagant in his action (but perhaps we can't see this in the photo), could easily be a Riding Horse but personally, without looking at him in the flesh, I'd go for the Show Hunter class. (Don't tell anyone, but there's no entries in the Show Hunter class yet anyway!!).

Why aren't you doing the age group as well (people are being put off it seems by the word "manners" when showing a TB which we find very odd - because all our own TB's and ones we know have manners to die for. How about the Competition Horse class - because he'd be the type to do quite well in that class.

As for your entries - get them in as soon as you can because there are only a few spaces left for Horses Raced on the Flat. Any other queries, just feel free to ask us. Off now to the A.H.T. to plan show layout and collect some more prizes in Newmarket.
