Morning all. I have a lovely KWPN (Ahorn x Zaire) mare who I've evented successfully to Intermediate, but now its time for her to have a baby - and I'm struggling for daddies!

I'm looking for a TB/SF stallion, not overly big, very loose moving, great hindlimb, very sound, proven progeny with a good brain. Ideally I want to be able to AI with chilled semen, I am based in the UK.

Ideas welcome...

Thanks in advance!

I have a Take it 2the limit she is absolutely amazing! Everyone just drools over how well she moves& jumps. She could be a pure dressage horse as the dressage judges just love her. She would gallop all day too. Only thing is she can be a right cow bag to handle , she is a pretty stressy horse in the yard- has to live out- but under saddle she is just fab & gives 100%.
Think TI2TL 's oldest offspring are 7, he hasn't had many mares at all ( only about 20) he had 3 x 7 year olds at the 6 yr old eventing champs , 2 of them got highly placed I think one nearly won it, & several of his offspring are getting good places at intermediate level & they're only 7 year olds. I think a lot of his offspring are better than TI2TL himself, he is a super horse & has done v well, but does look a touch plain in his videos but he is obviously able to improve on his mares in terms of the ability and competitive spirit he passes on. I can just feel that my mare is going to just love eventing- & will think that the cross country is brilliant fun.

TI2TL has such a strong dam line as well- so many of his mothers offspring have been international eventers and Showjumpers, which would account for his high strike rate with his offspring, as genetically he is very prepotent with successfull bloodlines on both sides.

In your shoes, and if size isn't a problem as they tend to be rather tall, I'd be looking at the Harras de Brullemail horses. Chilled semen is available on a loosely NFNF basis, such is their confidence, and it's a first class deal. There are some excellent stallions on their roster.

TBs? Probably the right horses are standing in Ireland, but as few of the studs seem to have internet connection, even fewer seem to have access to a camera, and it seems that none have a licence to export semen, so the only path (and it will be frustrating), is to ship the mare over. I'll be simply delighted to be corrected on this!!

Here? I'd be looking for a known NH sire, but then so few seem available for Non-TB usage, and at a sensible price, so those who'd be seeking blood are rather restricted to flat bred horses, and with often predictable results!

Alec.

I've recently seen some very nice TB stallions in Ireland - the two that stand out are Financial Reward, who won the Croker Cup in 2011, and Pointilliste. Drumhowan Stud have Mr Big Cat and Road to Happiness, and I think both are available AI for the UK. There's also Future Sport Horses lovely young stallion Future Gravitas who has created a lot of interest at his first stallion parades - he has great breeding for an eventing sire, Grafenstolz x BohemondXX. He's the maternal half-brother of Winsome Adante, the WEG Gold Medallist.

Bearskin - love harlequin, but when I spoke to them they were not that positive about supplying chilled - will try again....

No no - struggling to find any info on pointilliste, & what I have found suggests No AI?

Alec - don't want a dinosaur so size a concern!!
