To set the scene, each of them is in their usual stable having just been given their evening feed, everything in the yard is in it's normal place until my husband needs to go under a trailer to check something. The full TB has a stall chain across the door because she's inclined to go and help the others with their feeds, the others are just stood in with the door open, same as every other night.

Suddenly the TB spots my husband under the trailer, cue eyes out on stalks, neck arched over the chain, lots of snorting and blowing and she is standing on a diagonal pair of legs as she can't decide whether she needs to run or not. Snorting and posing continues for some minutes.

KWPN (or 7/8 TB if you check his pedigree) appears at his door, snorts loudly just in case there's something out there, strikes a pose and stands watching but obviously wondering what all the fuss is about.

3/4 TB (and the odd 1/4 is Shire) hears the commotion, looks out of her door, wanders calmly across the yard, still with a mouthful of grub, has a closer look (at this point you can see the "thinks bubble" reading "They really are weird these people"), checks to see if husband might possibly have a treat for her and then wanders back into her stable to finish her food.

Meanwhile the TB is unable to finish her eating until husband is fully out from under the trailer and standing upright again.

I love watching the differences between my horses.

My KWPN sounds just like yours! He watches everything, from my instructor putting up jumps, to me wondering around the yard. If he spots something spooky, he likes to stop and check it out before he goes anywhere near it. The ISH will boldly just walk past and not care about anything!

Deffinatly. Weve had him 9years and taken my mum who has never ridden in her life to BE eventing, in a short space of time (5years). Hes so lovely, handful on the ground at times but just an awesome horse. My new one (the kwpn) has far too much blood in him but is awesome too in his own way :D

This makes me smile.

I'll never forget my SFx mare when she saw a little lad whizz up and down through the barn past her stable. He was wearing his mums jacket zipped right up covering his head, as he wobbled along on his little sisters mini pink cycle. He looked just like a headless rider!

Snort, snort!! eyes on stalks, nostrils flareing, legs shaking and making a tremenous snort! Yep, that's my looney girl:D

You wonder just what they are thinking sometimes?

Our warmblood is similar to your KWPN! His approach to anything odd is an initial snort and then to watch in fascination. He seems to be interested in everything in a curious, rather than fearful way. We often say that he has found a 'TV' as when he spots something interesting he will stand their staring in fascination just as if he was absorbed in a TV programme. Bless him, he is very special.

lol

my Czech WB would have looked and watched, probably gone over and looked closer if he could as he is so nosey. Just not afraid of anything
(other than fireworks over top of indoor):D

Naawww it is very cute though, bless em! I wonder if its got anything to do with how their bred, and brought up in the Netherlands? Mine has led such a sheltered life over there, he came to the UK now lives out 24/7, has to jump coloured fillers, AND go on hacks! I must be such a cruel mum!! But im determined to get him brave!!;)
