Please dont take this the wrong way but why is she being assisted rather than left to get on with it by herself?? the only 2 mares ive had contact with gave birth fine on their own,

She was two weeks overdue, the foal was very big and it was her first.

All of this faffing around now is annoying me though, they haven't let her clean it or given it any reason to attempt to get up and drink from her - more interested in labelling it GIRL!

Looked like a difficult birth, poor Tea!

These people are beyond a joke, fair enough help the mare with her birth but stop mucking about. let her bond with her baby and let the foal learn who her mother is!
It's blooming rediculous that they are not giving the mare peace and quiet and letting nature take it's course!
Making me madder the more I watch it but I'm addicted!

P.s. breed horses and would never interfere with them like this after the foal was born......... the most important time is now - after the foal is born!

What in gods name are they doing???
Everytime the mare looks interested, they are pulling her away!
Not to mention wheelbarrows, people in and out, faffing about.....
Leave the poor girl alone and let her bond with her baby!

Maybe we should all scream together "get out you couple of clowns!" Then they might hear us and the new arrival can bond with mummy!

The reason she is rolling is probably to help pass the afterbirth...... I also think she is very agitated and not as interested in the foal as could be - she has far too many distractions!

It's also important for the foal to know who mum is because at the moent there are 3 mums (4 including the wheelbarrow!) Poor thing - she will be so confused!
