I have a teaching assessment at college tomorrow, have to teach a group flat and jumping lesson. Everyone seems to be doing shortening and lengthening for the flat and shortening and lengthening strides between fences for jumping, I am after something basic, was thinking counter canter and rein back/jumping on an angle, does anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks in advance

What about working students a little on getting a feel for rhythm at all 3 paces and explaining what rhthym is etc, or including some work with poles or between letters counting strides. Not sure if this fits into your lesson brief (if you have one).
In flat work might also work a bit on simple changes across a circle etc as a begining to working towards flying changes (or include work on flying changes if you and horses are up to doing that)
