Well, I thought this would be a fab idea as she needs to loss weight, but it won't be as hard on her joints. So as today is sooo lovely we went off to Ballywalter beach.

I decided to use the same method that I used with Midget. I'd go into the water, dog would follow, hey presto doglet can swim!

However, I forgot it was The Beast we're dealing with

The person that owns the farm has extended the pond to make a water jump, so last night I decided I was going to wade in with Otto and get him a bit braver with water.

It worked, but it wasn't quite deep enough for him to swim, and he decided to go through the willow screen and get stuck in the reeds

Then my wellies suddenly sprang a leak

We took mini beastie (Millie) to frensham pond with Piebaldsparkle on Wednesday and took her swimming...... the kids waded out with her and let her swim for shore

She didnt really get traumatised, but didnt really go in of her own accord either

My old girl when a pup would only go where her feet touched! Till she thought the frothy foam was solid & sank! Then learnt to doggy paddle really quick!
She eventually got the idea & now loves to swim & uses her tail as a rudder to turn!! Slapping it down to the side to turn her!
