teaching- insurance?!

a friend of mine wants to start doing some teaching (she's a great rider and lots of people have been asking her) but she doesn't have insurance so what would happen in the event of an accident...? would the yard owner of the yards she goes to teach at end up having to pay through their public liability? i don't think its such a good idea but she is short of cash...

I'm no expert on insurance but I do teach on a freelance basis, for which I hold the appropriate liability insurance etc. I very much doubt that the yards' insurance would pick up the tab, if your friend is doing the teaching I would assume that she would be the one who would be sued.

Personally I think she would be insane to attempt teaching without insurance.

I think you can get cover from the BHS... if you are on their instrutors list. at a reasonable cost too....
