I am in my last year doing a foundation degree in equine management and I would like to spend a year working on a yard and do my BHS exams to be an instructor and would like to get my qualifications to be a teacher.
I'd like to teach FE - diploma students.

What qualifications do I need to become a teacher??

Many thanks
Sophie

To teach in a school you need an honours degree and then a post graduate certificate in education (PGCE) it is different for FE though! Depends on the establishment but you can do a qualification in FE teaching.

That's great thanks I don't really want to top up my degree if I can help it. Ill have to speak to my module leader then I guess

Fe equine? Most will be happy with your degree and then will ask you to gain your pgce etc whilst on the job. A few collages have their Fe staff double up as riding instructors so you will need your bhsai as minimum.
