Now the jumping is going well, a friend (my XC pair!) has mentioned some Team Chases she's found. We can make up a team of 3 or 4 with others from the yard and it's 2ft9 class.

Has anyone done any TC? any tips, experiences, or anything like that?

I presume, like hunting, it would be good for encouraging something to go forward/jump?

Go for it! It looks so much fun, I have always wanted to do it but unfortunatly have to spend my time trying to make my horse chill out instead of getting her going! It would be great for getting them going forward and teaching them about XC!

Go for it!

Its great fun, I used to do a lot when I was younger

however you do not bounce anymore

Stick to the Novice / Intermediate, they are serious team chasing horses that do the Open Team Chasing..

If you go on www.teamchasing.co.uk

It will give you more of an idea as you can watch Vids and look at the photos..

That looks like so much fun!!

Doesn't look as fast as I expected either actually.

I don't bounce anymore either, however having gone back to ponies at least I don't have far to fall!

We don't have to be a professional looking team like that do we? Or affiliated to any sort of body - can we just enter a team in a comp?

It's not so much teaching him about XC, it's more that I've had a load of problems with nerves that I've passed on to him and have spent (honestly!) the last 18 months to 2 years sorting it all out. Now things are going brilliantly, did some pairs XC last week and it went brilliantly. He was only silly at the 2ft6 and under jumps, all the 2ft9s he was great

Something like this might be ideal just to cement everything I've been working on - we hunt and that's his favourite thing in the world to do!

Yes the horses need to be over 14.2 for the Intermediate and Open.. but you would be fine for the novice.
Not sure how big your pony is!

The Open is rather mental - I have seen some nasty accidents at that level, you really need to be a professional team to enter at that level, and have the horses that will take you over the fences at 100mph! they do not check before a fence

Go for it!

How are you anyway - not spoken to you for ages!! hows the job??

Its Molineux by the way

Have now got another job...same company (the one in Basingstoke) but am now sales rep covering West London for them. I really enjoy it but it's bl00dy hard work as well!

Pony is 14.2hh, full up. I thought those pics looked a bit pro, too big for me. I'd be happy with a 2ft6/2ft9 really.

How are things with you? It has been ages hasnt it!
