title says it all

The website is now clear of all sponsors

but so-far no public announcement from any of the so-called 'sponsors' - which is a shame

As Lucretia said on another thread, from small acorns do big trees grow.. I still haven't received replies from alot of the sponsors; think I've had about 6 in total. Notably not one has said they will continue to support AT, one stated they are currently assessing the matter and the others stated they don't sponsor AT at all!

yes - people power

wish that our letters to the FEI get a similar result but I doubt it

hope that AT is now feeling a dent in her purse larger than the piffling fine imposed by the FEI

I've got a reply from a sponser that does support her!!!!! Don't know who it is though as it came back on a private email address.

If you will read the 30-page summary of the FEI decision in Amy's case, you will have an opportunity to understand the FEI decision. If you'll provide me with your name, I would be glad to discuss this with you.

The FEI and the treating veterinarians at Rolex are unanimous in their assessment that Amy's actions, tho tragically wrong, did NOT cause the injury to Sparky or any further damage because she did not stop more immediately. His injury was catastrophic and immediate at the first bad step he took.

Your comment that Amy murdered him can only be indicative of your lack of reasonable and fair assessment. I hope that you never make a mistake and have people talk about you as you are evidently doing to Amy. Do you not accept the verdict of three very intelligent and competent and fair judges of the FEI?

So the FEI admit he had a catastrophic injury at the first stumble yet they do NOT consider it abuse to keep riding / pushing a horse injured beyond help to the finish??? I take it not one of the FEI panel who came up with that gem have actually read their own rule book on the welfare of horses in competition.

I think that you guys are having an effect! Why else would they have removed the sponsors page, if not to try and remove the contacts for us! Ive emailed Charles Owen & Horseware Ireland.

DieselDog:

Was the replying e-mail who supports her from a certin magazine in the west coast of the USA?

As for AT I wish she would go on Bill O'Riley and let him stop her spinning (no pun here) on this issue.

I am an American and I am disgusted by AT's excuses in ths matter. Yes, she did make a mistake but what fumes me is her excuses in the matter. If she was only upfront about her actions from the beginning, I would've felt sorry for her.

People makes mistakes all the freaking time but if you own up to it and not make excuses you will be forgiven. You will not be believed or forgiven if you make half ass statements of guilt after you have been found guilty.

I had an email back from Charles Owen saying that they did not sponsor AT, and also that they felt she had let herself and her supporters down! So well done CO.

I've just worked out who it was, I emailed her join team tryon link

This is the repy I sent back

Dear Jemi,

I have read the 30 page FEI document and also reviewed the video evidence many times. There are several blatant lies in Amy's testimony. Namely, she was unable to turn that horse as there was insufficient room before the last fence, this is incorrect, if you watch the video you will see that she a) had plenty of room to avoid the last fence and b) she actively rode a horse that was desperately trying to stop itself into that jump. Le Samurai broke to trot on at least 4 occasions before the last fence and she kept kicking a complete novice would realise that something was up with the horse which is she couldn't 'feel' she shouldn't be allowed on a horse.

Secondly she says that she has absolutely no idea where the finish was, that horse was trying to stop as soon as it landed from the fence and she kept kicking until she got to the finish and stopped one stride after it - and she didn't know where it was?

The FEI would never have even gone this far with the case if it hadn't been broadcasted on Youtube and the Internet, and the case was a complete farce, they only listened to witnesses that had a vested interest in Amy not being banned and the independent ground jury was completely ignored. I'm glad that they could at least admit that Amy did abuse her horse and cause him unnecessary suffering but I am shocked on the value that they put on that horses life and the poor deterrent that a 2 month ban creates (by the way the minimum FEI ban is 3 months so how did she only end up with 2?). For your information there was a recent case where the FEI fined someone 3000 CHF and they got a 6 month ban for hitting their horse excessively, it seems if they had killed the animal instead they would have been better off.

Amy deserves to be talked about as she did make a mistake and a very public one, she acted abhorrently and in my opinion should have had a 2 year ban and a far higher fine. I can also guarantee that I would never make the same mistake that Amy made as I actually care for my horse and if they took a 'bad' step as bad as the one that Sparky took I would have let him stop within 2 strides (as Sparky wanted to) and dealt with the situation properly.

Could you explain to me how you can actually support what she did?

Thank you

*Claps* well said!!

Had a fairly positive response from all those I've emailed APART from this one:

<font color="blue"> We at LMF Feeds are truly saddened by the injury and subsequent death of Le Samurai. The incident and its dramatic consequences have been largely reported and debated in the equestrian world. According to the FEI testimony, Amy Tryon mistakenly thought that Le Samurai was losing a shoe, or that a boot had slipped, and believed that his stride would return to normal once the shoe or boot had come all the way off. She contemplated turning a circle in front of the fence so as to further evaluate Le Samurai, but realized that there was not sufficient space to safely execute such a turn. She jumped the fence and began to stop the horse. Bottom line, she made a mistake. Have other 3-Day events made similar mistakes? Captain Mark Phillips and Karen O’Connor both testified they had made similar mistakes during competition with injured horses. The FEI concluded that Amy Tryon was not fully aware of the situation, she has a clean record of horsemanship and that she possesses overall personal integrity. Finally, Amy has expressed sincere regret for her actions, has taken full responsibility for them, and has apologized several times. LMF Feeds continues to support Amy Tryon and would like to ask those who want to condemn her to consider their own record in the health and welfare of their horses. Let the person who has never made a mistake in judgment cast the first stone.

What is all this 'let he who is without sin' b*llocks that people keep spouting??? Oh its ok to ride a crippled horse into the ground because someone else has probably already done it.

For goodness sake.

Personally, if I'd ever made such a horrendous mistake with such catastrophic consequences, I'd be beside myself with remorse and grief would've been apologising profusely to the horse, the owners, sponsors, public, etc, etc from the moment I got off the horse...
I'm sure I'm not the only one on HHO.

Email back from Charles Owen:

"I was surprised by your email as we have only ever supported Amy as part of an American team. I was therefore quite amazed to see our logo on her website, though we always welcome endorsement from top riders.

All of us at Charles Owen condemn any cruelty to horses, whether as part of competing or through wilful neglect. Not only has Amy let herself down, but all of her supporters and it is such a shame."

Was from the president of the company.

Now it's totally gone but I do have the company names:

Heritage Gloves
Charles Owens
Mikmar Bit company
Myler Bit Company
Nike
Adeptus Nutrition
Equine Magnetic
Adequan
Fleeceworks
MDC Intelligent Stirrups

Flying Changes, Smart Pak Equine and LMF feeds still support her and it's their right to do so. They can support her all they want, but they are going to lose some customers.

Oh well, we tried. At least it helped a bit.
