My baby (29 months old ) is 15.3¾ hands on her withers and is 16.1½ hands on her quarters. Is almost a 2 inch difference in a 2½ yrs old quite normal? She's always grown 'butt-first' but I thought she'd start evening out around now.

Anyway, I've been bored this afternoon.......

and.....

Well, we're all informed that TB's grow quickly and at 2½ she should have reached 98% of her adult height. Well........

Adult height (0.98) = 161.92 cm (15.3¾ hands)
Adult height = 161.92 / 0.98
Adult height = 164.33 cm

And 164.33 cm = almost 16.0¾ hands

Soooo, how come her hind end is almost 16.2 hands already? I'm worried her front end isn't keeping up

BTW, the 'string test' from mid-knee to coronet done at 18 months = 17 inches, and the ergot to wither measurement = 16.3 hands.

So I am left even more

I have no real experience on babies but bought my boy rising 4 and he didnt stop growing til he was 6. I reckon she will def even out.

she ll be fine, they always grow bum first, the front will catch up, them her bum will go up again!!! but by the time shes finished growing it ll of evened itself out

The difference is absolutely normal, and final height is always a guessing game, with nothing more than estimates being possible.
