Can anyone please explain in simple language what is patented?

Does this patent stop the other groups working on a new vaccine from patenting their version?
In other words will there be a monopoly to produce AHS vaccine until 2029?

Interesting that ''they'' do admit that the current vaccine can kill horses which our horse owning friends are experiencing now in SA, yet vaccination is compulsory to move your horses into certain areas
 
AHS is out of control--and heading GLOBAL. The SA government has control of a dysfunctional vaccine. AND they have control over who can register a new vaccine. patent no patent ...SA Government will not allow a competitor in the market. There is a SHOCK awaiting the international world the OIE says controls are in order...do they know a horse died 2 weeks ago of suspected AHS, this was after the horse was injected...it is rumoured that the horse reacted to the vac. this vac is 50 years old. A horse dies 3 weeks ago and SA;s ban on imports and exports of horses has been lifted. Is the outside world going to wait until they are infected before they stop this carnage which all revolves around corrupt control and BIG racing money. International horse owners, start raising your objections, you do not want AHS, there is NO effective vaccine and there is no cure and up to a 90 % chance of your horse dying, if you r government does not cull its first. This is no joke, we lose horses daily, and it’s all kept VERY quiet.

SA horse owners tell us it is impossible to vaccinate in the face of an outbreak as it takes 2/3 boosters before sufficient antibodies are made to give protection

In SA every life is fought for and AHS cases nursed and given every chance.

The new vaccine is needed but preferably in the hands of a company prepared to sell at an affordable price
 
Cuffy Great response . If AHS jump abroad many horses will die, through the disease and through culling, why are the international horse owners not questioning the lifting of the Ban of SA horses. Horses are still dying, and its late i the AHS season. The new AHS season starts in September .....its almost all year round , the widow is wider, this does not indicate that the disease is """"ünder control or managed""""" I know if I was a international owner, knowing what I do I would be creaming and jumping up and down. More need to voice objection to save the Global heard from AHS contamination:mad::mad::mad::mad:
