Teetch chattering

I've notcied that our new dog, Darcy chatters her teeth a lot. She is a greyhound. Any ideas why? is it a greyhound thing?

She does it when we make a fuss of her and she also did it at te vets (but she was shaking too, which figures). But she isnt scared when we make a fuss of her, her tails wags.

could be an excitement/scared thing. Our dog does it when the hoover goes near her - really chatters away, it's very odd but I think it's almost like a warning to the hoover/vet!!
As for doing it when greeting you I think she is just very excited, and has an odd way of showing it!! Our dog sings when we come through the door!

One of ours chatters his teeth at feeding time... Course he also drools copiously and sometimes manages to make huge spit bubbles come out of the side of his mouth!

One of our labs chatters her teeth at feed time (which is definately excitement as she taps her toes too) and at the vets (definately fear as she shakes like a leaf).

My younger lurcher does it. I think its excitement, she does it when we come in or if I'm playing with her.

Our greyhound does it when he is excited or stressed.

Roo will do it when she is wriggling on her back doing her acrobatics
