I want to establish a better routine for cleaning my dogs teeth. Both are small adult dogs.

What do people do/recommend - brushing or dental sticks and how often etc? TIA

You are much better brushing with a pet specific toothpaste if your dog will allow you. You can get finger brushes which can be a bit easier. Dental sticks can be extra calories and only effective if your dog spends time chewing them.

Brushing is much more effective. I personally don't brush but my dogs always have a proper bone to chew, which is just as good.

I use Plaque Off with my three - including one very feisty JRT who I would be risking hand and fingers if I tried to brush hers. She is 18 and her breath is clean and fresh so it seems to work well, and as a seaweed extract it contains minerals which seem to give them all a good deal of oomph for their ages. Recommended by my vet.
