I have decided with my xmas bonus, to give Ed a very unglamorous MOT

but being a very grass roots gal I have no idea where to start! So please help.

Teeth - I'm ok on.
Back - who do I need to get out, Chiropractor? Sports massager personmajiggy? Other?
Saddle fit - Before or after back person? After seems logical?

Anything else I can do as a MOT kind of thingy?

he's going to HATE it!!

I'd say, just a good physiotherapist who has horses of their own and a proper horsey background to do a once over and check the saddle fit isn't causing any problems.

Hi ya,

I use to use a chiropractor but now I use a sports massage/physio lady. I find it much more intricate and the horses love it far more than manipulation of bones! Not saying chiropractor wasn't good but the horses love the deep massage given and it really helps if they are stiff or have muscular aches and pains. They seem to do the same job as a chiropractor and more IMO.
I use the same physio for my back too which is fab when I can afford it! (my horsey gets it first I'm afraid)

FWF, IMO you need to speak to back person and ask what they do, all work slightly differently. My first choice chiro who has just come back after baby (yay) does a lot of massage with the horses love. She is human trained with an animal conversion and does me too!

We have a Mctimoney practitioner to ours every few months. Some enjoy it some don't but they all benefit. He also competes his own horse and will check saddle fit.

With a Physio you need a vet referal before treatment.

We get teeth done every 6 months sooner if there appears to be a problem.
