Well my horse has always been abit stiff on the left rein in canter. however we improved it with lots of hard work, and by the end of our eventing season (area eventing in July) she was going nicely on both reins.

We have been schooling her alot through the autumn and she has improved no end in her walk/trot work on both reins, and her canter on her right rein- she feels really lovely. However, she has got A LOT worse on her left rein in canter. Basically when you ask for canter, no matter how quitely you ask her, she sticks her head right up to avoid the bit and just charges off in a very fast canter with her neck like a giraffe, and then when she finally settles (after about 10 circuits of the school!) she is still trying to cut in and bends the wrong way, and if you put your inside leg on her she just sticks her head up again in protest.

Last week she actually pi$$ed off with me when i was schooling her in a large open field, as i was cantering on the left rein and she got fed up so stuck her head up and went, and every time i tried to take a contact she would put her head up higher! manged to stop her eventually by using my seat.

Really struggling with what to do, so am getting dentist out asap. Do you think it sounds like a teeth problem, or is she just taking the pi$$?

Sounds much more like a back issue to me, though its sensible to get the dentist if she hasnt been done in the past 6 months.
