But can you get horse tooth paste. And does human tooth paste effect them ...?

TBH there is no need for toothpaste as horses are herbivores and dont eat anything that would decay their teeth (unless fed polos by the lorry load!). Also, human toothpaste is designed for enamel teeth and the horses tooth surface is cementum with is far less dense than enamel.

I am not saying that teeth brushing is bad but the best way to do this is to buy a dandy brush (not too course one) and with a bucket of water just brush the upper incisors in one down motion (away from the gum line). With the lower incisors brush upwards away from the gums. Thats all that is necessary!

Oh......dont try to go anywhere near the pre molars or the molars or you WILL lose fingers!!!!!

My horse have gaps between her incisors that fill with food and have caused her to have gum disease, I have seen some very painful gum disease in other horses. I use a tooth pick and pick it out, it has worked really well her gums arent so angry looking now and her breath no longer smells so bad!!!
