So Levi has started teething again!

he will be 6 in April and these will be his final teething to come in

they are the K9 teething, if i run my finger on his gum you can feel them although they have "broken" the gum line as of yet..

he has over the last week become a little bit of a sod in the stable! chewing any thing and every thing he can and become nippy!
i brought him last night with the metal clip on the lead rope in his mouth!

every time he does nip or chew he gets a "AA AA!" and will let go or give if but with in about 30 seconds he is back to it!

are yard is currently on a lock down due to a strangles out brake, so wile the vet was testing for the clear of this i asked him to have a look

he to agreed with the teething and said other then giving pain killer there wasn't a lot i could do.. we both didn't really want to take the pain killer route as he has in the 3 weeks finished ulcer treatment.

he has a treat ball (empty) and a rubber ball with handle in his stable although he doesnt seem to want to play with either (bucket handles are more fun!)

any one any ideas on how to help him deal with this? any advice?? any one been through it??

problem is we dont know how long it will take the teeth to come in, how long is a piece of string...

Pretty sure you can use bonjela. I put up an old lead rope wrapped up in his stable which he can chew on. Decided better to allow him the opportunity to chew and see if that helps alleviate it, although I realise that may mean he chews every lead rope. Apparently he's always been chewy but I think part of it is teething as well.

Thanks Bernster i will give it a try, I have been very lucky with Levi he has never been a chew-er he had a few weeks summer last year and the dentist was due to visit , turned out his last baby tooth was stuck in as the adult one pushed up, with in a few moments of wiggling the dentist had the baby tooth out and that was the end of it, so now he has started again and there is no baby tooth to take out as it where i am at a loose on how to resolve the issue other then just wait it out.. not that my lead rope will live throw this! :D
