Any help from anyone please!

My baby who's 3 in April had a kind of cut at the bottom/ underside of his jaw on left- it was sticky and hard when I noticed it- at first I thought it was his likit. Cleaned it, put cream on then next day he had a circle (not even 5p size) which was a scab with black skin underneath about 2 inches above corner of mouth same side.

2 days later the same appears other side. His jaw line is a bit bumpy and theres a couple of lumps along his face under eyes level with top jaw.

He's eating normal and still has all his baby teeth and doesn't mind his mouth and the sores touched... any ideas?

Will be calling dentist to come out as soon as I get hold of the number for her!

I dont want a scabby Baby!

Just to add this IS NOT strangles!!!

Sores on the face isnt a normal occurrence when teething(well not something i have seen anyway)
Sounds like you need a dentist asap(which you are on with by sounds of it)...when was the last time he was checked?

September I think or poss just before!

I was wondering if hurting gums was making him rub his face?

He does play in the field but Im thinking this is too much to be play bites, esp as they the same areas both sides...?

Have a looksie at this as obviously you know exactly were he is getting sores and it may help you determine wether he has teeth coming through or wether it could be something else

my rising 3 yr old filly is currently teething, she has raised areas on the top of her face along jaw line but has no sores of any type - but maybe it is as you say he is rubbing because he is sore - dentist will confirm hopefully.

Spoke to dentist she said its probably the caps coming off and the cuts are probably from him rubbing as its probably a strange feeling for him.

Feel better now, was worrying it may be mites or a reaction to something- even though nothings changed!!!

Thanks all
