Exercise needs? Do they take to crate training well? Diseases etc. to look out for?

It's a rescue whippet, 7 months old....and I really shouldn't be looking

Yes, yes, YES go for it :D They dont need huge amounts of exercise, they are true sprinters so have shortish bursts of energy then sleep the rest of the day..... they are VERY easily crate trained, house trained etc.... and they are gorgeous little dogs :D

I wanted one, but Cayla fobbed me off with Amy (whippet x greyhound) instead :p

Hmmm, I shall have to give it more thought. And perhaps go meet her.

ETA: This is her - link

Oh pleeeease have her, she is gorgeous :):):):) In fact if she wasnt 'overseas' :p I would have her myself :D

Just looked back at your OP, no particular diseases to look out for, mine lived until 15 (old age/heart failure) and 12 (tumour in her nose, very very rare) respectively :)

There is a whippet at my friends livery yard which I am trying to steal and take home with me

Ooooo shes lovely, go get her!! :D
Although from that pic she doesn't look quite pure whip to me, looks like there is a dash of something else to me, I could be wrong though!
