tell me everything about wearing a BP AND a jacket please

I am new to a BP, bought in the summer and just now struggling with how to combine it with a jacket.

So - BP over or under? Do you buy a size/2 sizes bigger than normal jacket to accommodate the BP underneath?
Do you go for a thin waterproof rather than a warm jacket (because the BP is warm)? all stuff like that.
I have plenty jackets but nothing looks ok either under or over it.
It doesn't help that I am rather larger anyway than I would like to be, so feeling not very keen on the BP, even though I know I should wear it.

Hmmm, good question. I had my hacking / hunting jackets before I had my body-protector - the BP is too bulky to fit underneath, so I wear it on top which is not very elegant...

But yesterday when I went XC schooling, I was able to stick a fleece hoodie over the BP, no problems. I think that's because it's stretchy and is not tailored.

i bought a slightly bigger jacket

i looked rather erm top heavy but imo it looks smarter under the jacket not over!!

Mine - under 'Coat' over show jacket as I use show jacket for showing, dressage, and SJ but only wear BP for SJ so don't want huge jacket for everything else! I buy 1 size bigger 'coat' to cater for it.
