We all got our horses in, and so did I, groomed off the mud, and so did I, picked out their feet, and so did I , tacked them up, and..I didnt, they went off hacking, and I didnt......gave some rubbish excuse about nancy slipping as the roads looked frosty so didnt ride. Its been over a month and all my confidence has gone again, I know if I just get back on ans do it once I will be fine.........rubbish arent I?

I will tell you off! I am just out of hospital after nearly being killed off by flu and so weak I can barely get round the house. I would love to have been out riding today, but it's going to be some time for me.
I have lost my confidence before tho and I know how easy it is to make excuses rather than go for it. Next time take a deep breath and go for it! As you get on spare a thought for those of us grounded by illness or accident who would love to be in your place. Once you've done it once you'll feel terrific!!

Sorry to hear you are poorly, get well soon - good advice too.
Best wishes

couldnt ride this weekend either because im in hospital so you can think of me too! but if you're scared then you're scared. i have lost my confidence loads of times in the past & am not the most confident even when i haven't lost it. could you get someone else to ride her first so you can see she isnt going to do anything then get on afterwards? you could ask person to take you on a leadrein first if you think it would help. something i have learnt in the last few months is that fear of the event is always worse than the even itself, i.e. it isnt going to be as bad as you think it is!
