Y is it that when you stable your horse on a DIY yard or any public yard for that matter, other horse owners always have something to say about the way you do things??? shouldnt people just be greatful that you are taking appropriate care of your horse and offer their opinion when you actually need it!? it really irritates me

Yep it annoys me too, unless of course it is sound advice. I'm a novice rider so still have lots to learn, but I know what you mean about DIY yards...

well ive always had a pony since i was about 7 but never really had a lesson as was brought up on a racing yard in Ireland but i wouldnt say i was overly experienced but because im the youngest on the yard -now 21 the older people always seem to have opinions about every thing, even the way i muck out!? Y? at least im doing it ? and theres nothing wrong with my way at all. just been tought differently. but yeah Muffin if its sound advice its cool

I must be lucky cos no one offers their opinion on our yard unless you ask for it really.

unless of course they are saying things behind my back!

i kno wat u mean .. ppl on my yard are alwais askin y i do things the way i do .. especially the mucking out .. coz its not my stables it has to be immaculate so they alwais questio and they kno y ! .. also theyre alwais goin on about ruggin up and clippin and they kno it anoys me

lol, problem is I'm the one offering on our (family only) yard.
I know it irritates people, but then they want my advice as soon as anything happens-no win sit.
But they are sisters so there's that, not just random fellow diyers!

There's always one isn't there! Where ever you go there is always someone that questions what everbody else does! "Why have you......" What do you do it like for?"

I'm all for advice but not when it comes personal preference views!

I'm very luck where I am now because they are all a lovely bunch but I still would one day like my very own paddock - prefably attached to a house!! - dream on!

family is ok caz families (well mine ne way) always are poking noses here there and every where in my business lol

Im completely with you on this one!

I have been turning my horse out with OR boots on to help keep his shoes on as previous farrier had messed up his feet so he was losing it every 3 weeks. She hasnt been to check her horses in nearly 3 weeks (YO's live on site and can see their field so know when they are up) The ponies both lost their shoes a few weeks ago so have had no shoes on as farrier was moving house and couldnt come up to put shoes back on until thurs.(vey glad i changed from this farrier!) So this thursday i got a text at 8am saying my horse has still got his "hoof" boots on so she has taken them off and put them in his stable... ermmm they were supposed to be on.YO also said she had told my other friend that her horses needed the vet because it had a cough. Said friend knows about the cough and has been keeping an eye on it and kindly mentioned to other livery that when she gets a cough she doesnt go to the doctor!

However it really irritated me as she hasnt seen her own horses for i dont know how long, only comes up once in a blue moon and her poor pony as got a very badly burnt nose and pony has got sweet itch and has nothing put on for it (supposed to have these injections that dont work any way but they havnt even been up to do them!)

just found it ironic that she doesnt take care of her own horses but yet interferes with mine!

Rant over now lol
