Tell me your kissing spines stories

So my boy had X-rays yesterday and confirmed mild kissing spines, he's having a bone scan today to determine severity and if there is anything else going on. Depending on the results he has three potential options one of them is a new type of surgery where the interspinous ligaments ligaments are cut. Has anybody else's horse had this type of surgery? Please tell me your stories. :(
 
Hi, we we're diagnosed KS T14,15,16,17 overlapping and bony changes 12/3/14 had steroid injection ,physio and work programme advised which just showed up hind limb lameness. On investigation diagnosed SI,Osteo hocks and PSD ( many KS horses have other issues ) T14,15,16 removed 10/5/14 not suitable for lig snip as no room also had her hocks ,SI medicated. Rehab was a little longer than usual due to the lameness issues but we are completely sound and the difference in Darcy is amazing. I'd go for it again no questions,don't get me wrong it's been a long process and time consuming but so far worth it. Saddle fitting next week and then we're off on the next part of our journey. Good vet, good physio ,time patience and take thing day by day and join Horses with Kissing spine on FB loads of positive stories and great advise. :) good luck xx
 
Thanks darcydoo, that's great to hear he's also been diagnosed with navicular too. :( so far has been injected so just waiting to see how this goes and go from there. Hearing lots of positives re the op so that's settle a few nerves should that come in the future. :)
 
:( unsettling times. Darcy was much worse once her back was injected and on muscle relaxants . Thought it was game over when they rhymed of her fault lists, but the FB page was brilliant. We have also just gone barefoot as I feel that with her joint/lig problems that better balance from the foot up can only help and once you start reading it just makes sense.( the success rate for navicular is outstanding) And she's done brilliant length of stride much improve and just lifting legs and picking feet much better . X
