By a process of logic, common sense and elimination Kiki is on the above and misoprostol for hindgut ulcers. It's been 2 weeks and there is maybe a very slight improvement. The vet said it would be at least 2 weeks before I saw a difference so I am being impatient but I'd be interested to hear any others experiences and how long things took

I can't comment on the meds for ulcers but my horse was treated in horse hospital (lawsonia) with karidox (anti biotic) and sucralfate for several days.

Treatment for Lawsonia was several weeks anti biotics. They sent him home with karidox but no sucralfate. He went backwards after a couple of days. I didn't realise he had had S as an inpatient.
I got back to the hospital and they couldn't understand it and it was he's having the same as here. I insisted something had changed and it was more or less "the only other thing was sucralfate"
I got sucralfate (which he had for several weeks ) and the difference within a couple of days was amazing.

That doesn't solve your problem so it is probably of no help to you but it is just to say that in my case S produced very quick results.
