I am searching for a field companion for my mare, i have just moved so don't really know anyone one i can borrow a companion from for a few months.

We are not in the situation to buy until we have come back from China (visiting family) in June so would need a companion until then.

Where would you suggest I look? The problem is my mare dislikes anything under the age of 3 else i would go and 'borrow' one of my Aunt's yearlings.

I am in the Telford area now.

A friend of mine was in this position and she tried a local dealer who had something in that could have done with a bit of grass. It was a win win - Dealer happy to have someone else keep the horse for free - horse put on a bit of weight and was sold a few months later. Would obviously have to be someone you know of who is reputable etc.
Alternatively put up an ad in local feed merchants - sure someone will take you up on offer!

Put a few ads about locally, I'm sure you'll get a good response, and ask at local yards and riding schools, good luck.

Might be worth asking at local riding schools, an owner I know often lends a pony to people needing a companion, especially this time of year, to give the pony a bit of a holiday and some extra grass.
