What is this stuff usually used for? How sedating is it? Someone I know used it for a horse that was awkward to shoe, the guy in my feed merchant said it is for competition use? Could it be used to take the edge off an over-exhuberant horse out hunting or does it impair reactions?

I use it if my mare for dressage or one day events, it doesnt make them dopey or impare performance, it makes my horse more relaxed.
my only complaint is its a bit pricey!!

its meant to relax them a bit but i've used it on my horse when showing her and i found she would be lovely and calm to warm up then would expolde worse than ever in the ring. must depend on the horse tho as some folk say it good.

I used it on my over exhuberant mare and it was pretty useless, so I changed to Feedmarks Steady Up and that worked perfectly. I think it is a case of horses for courses, you just have to try and see if it works.
