i've just got a new horse that last year went through the tendons in the top of his back leg.
she's now perfectly sound and i'm about to bring her back into full work after 5 years off with only the odd hack.
just wondered if anyone had experiance of this and if your horse came back sound of not
thanks

a friend had a horse which completely severed the tendons in a front leg. after lots of time to recover, he went back to full work including jumping, charging around the countryside (friend's speciality!)
tendons which have been sliced tend to heal much better than a pulled tendon, the crimps inside haven't been affected, so it retains its elasticity. that's my understanding of it anyway.
best of luck, i'd take it very slowly, lots of walking at first and very gradually increasing workload.

My horse split his DDFT, it took a year of careful exercise and turnout, and tendoneaze by the bucket full for him to return to our pre-injury hacking.
