My horse out hunting went mildly lame and when we got home his front offside was swollen. He has since been on box rest for almost 2 weeks now and has had it bandaged, iced and have a magnetic boot on him as well. It was starting to go down but is still up. He isn't majorly lame on it but he is lame when trotted up.

Can anyone suggest anything? Know of any tips other than what we are already doing?

i'd get it ultrasound scanned asap, definitely, if you haven't already. that will show you exactly what is going on in there, and you can then treat accordingly. i wouldn't trot him up at all, i'd stick to box rest or light walking in hand (if he will do that sensibly) until you can get him scanned.

Ditto, if he hasn;t been already, then you need him scanned, he has all the indications of a fairly serious tendon or ligament pull. It should have gone down by now if it was minor. If you get him "sound" and take him hunting again before it's fully repaired, then he could rupture it completely.

Yep, ditto the above really. Horses legs are funny things and differnt horses will go lame for different degrees of injury. But after this period of time is is probably Ultrasound and vet call out time, especially as you have been doing all of the right things so far. Even if he looks better to trot up doesn't mean that he is all healed on the inside and cptrayes is right that you could do more damage in the long run if you do too much too soon. Good luck getting him better
