Hello everyone would just like to hear about your horses tendons injuries, my horse done he's deep digital tendon in about 9 months ago now ! He had loads of scans injection and fluid drained from it , they then decided to send him for a op which looking back I wish I never put him through it as he went more lame then ever , they then rescanned him and was still showing loads of soft tissue damage , he is now wearing a shoe with a heel on to take pressure of the tendon , he is looking good in walk but still very lame in trot , my question is when your horses did there tendon in did they ever come sound again if so how long did it take you ? Before when he did he's front tendon in he was aloud to be ridden in walk after 3 months , but this time with he's hind it's been 9 months and still not aloud to be ridden vets orders thanks guys sorry it's long

I think if I was you and your perhaps out of your Insurance cover, I would be tempted to turn your horse away in a field for a year to rest and heal. Tendon injuries take ages to mend, my horse tore her ddft in her hoof. She did it 5yrs ago now and we did box rest, hand walking, egg bar shoes. When she was eventually turned out after winter she injured her sdft on the opposite leg due to compensating on that leg. I therefore box rested her for a short time until she was looking more sound, then turned her away, I didnt want to put her through lots of box rest again.

She is doing well now and ridden regularly. Its not something you can rush atall unfortunately. It does sound like your horse has been through a lot.
