My poor mare has just suffered 7weeks box rest with a minor tendon injury im taking her back to the clinic tomorrow to deside where we go from here!!!! however she is still lame no better no worse someone was telling me about wave treatement they can have can anyone tell me more dose it leave scars ect.

Which tendon? Front or back leg?
Would guess you're referring to shockwave treatment, but I've only ever used it for ligament injuries. If you are referring to shock wave it's a non invase treatment. They hold what looks like an ultra sound scanner to the leg and it pulses shock waves through the site. Or something similar! No scars, although they do sedate the horse as some find it uncomfortable.

If its minor tendon injury you might be lucky enough to get her into light work in 12 weeks. My horse has 10% tear in his front leg he had 12 weeks off restricted turnout then I slowly brought him back into work with no problems at all.Are you having her scanned tommorrow ?

I had a mare with a ruptured suspensory ligament. She was on box rest for 3 months then gradually got a an hour or 2 turn out in a small paddock daily. I put her on devils claw and she had ultra sound therapy on the leg and physio. It took 4 months of this before she came back into light work but now she's as fit as ever. Good luck

I did fence a 20x20 patch off but she,s a madam and jumped stright out so made it half the size and tried again but same thing happened! its a front leg(off fore) fingers crossed she will be ok x

Try linking about 6 small padddocks stable size so she has to negotiate walking in and around the paddocks but cant trot straight through.I did this for my horse when he did his ligament tendon and recently after surgery and it gave him something to think about getting to the new grass. Its good to keep them walking but jumping is a big no naughty girl good luck.
