tendon problems?

If a horse has had tendon problems in the past would you say they will have them in the future? Assuming the same workload?
 
Tendons don't heal the same, so regardless of how the problem is treated if you go back and do *exactly* the same as before, you are far more likely to have the same thing happen. We are almost certain that my mare had a torn deep flexor tendon well before I got her (probably from her old hunting days) and as I wasn't told, and was the first owner to actually want to do something with her (trying to get her fit, jumping etc. instead of just hacking as usual) it tore again. Due to this, she will not be sold on from me and any future riders will only ever hack her, just in case it re-tears. This is all vets' orders.
