tendon sheath injury update *with gross pics*

Its been nearly 4 weeks since my 5yr old mare got kicked and tore her tendon sheath, ligaments and went to the bone. and she has made great progress and the sheath is healing (although the pics look nasty its not puss in her leg, and there is no infection) so fingers crossed she makes a full recovery

i have to ring the vet tomorrow because the gunk has dramatically reduced since friday (it was soaking through 8 layers and now only one 1 layer!) and when i spoke to him last he said this would mean its healing and she can come off the penicillin

That wound looks like its healing a treat - my daughters 5 year old TB put her leg through a fence rolling this morning and has skinned her hind leg to the bone - fortunately for us she just missed her tendon and the artery phew - so we have the whole box rest, gel treatments and dressing thing to go through. I do hope your horse continues to make good progress.
