Is there any other tests apart from the blood tests for EMS that can be done to check for underlying causes of laminitis?

Horse is a 6yo tb gelding, unridden, currently walked in hand, can't be lunged or anything due to soundness issues and 2 new sarcoids, one on saddle area :(.

Going to try muzzling him and see if that works, if not he's going to be on very restricted turn out which seems unfair.

I watched it tonight but not really anything new. He's had insulin resistance tests already and they were normal.

Apparently ulcers can contribute.
Also liver dysfunction.
And there's cushings.

He doesn't show any signs of these, his coats gleaming, he's bright and lively and he's always playing. Just had warm hinds and a slight pulse. The farrier is going to check him tomorrow and the vet was already booked to look at the sarcoids.

The mild laminitis, PSD and reverse angle pedal bones are interlinked so have to err on the side of caution.
