Hi, if my new horse hasn't had a tetanus jab before, does he have to have an initial one and then another a few months later?

Yes, I usually give the second one about a month after the first (can't remember the exact time limits right now!)

Second one within a month then the third no earlier than 150 days and and before 215.

Sorry if I misunderstood the original question, there are only two for the tetanus course, three for flu.

Ok thanks, it's really annoying I dont know if my 2 yr old has ever had a jab. His last owner had him for only 6 months and he came from a large dealer before that, and I have no idea who bred him. I hate the fact my vet charges £35 to drive 3 miles to me, that's two call outs to have his jabs done. Unfortunately I don't have a trailer to take him there myself.

Do you know how to give the injection yourself? My vets let me do the tetanus only jabs myself. Alternatively, could you walk your lad to the surgery?

No he's a baby and I'm
Pregnant so walking him there isn't an option. I could ask about giving the injection myself but I bet they will say no as they've never seen him before.
