Thank you to the people who replied to my first post about Aromaheel - I've been a bit more proactive with it since (massaging it in to begin with, now getting my nails in there to get the scabs off). The mud fever is starting to look better, although it's taking much much longer than the aromesse website claims. At this point, the whole fetlock and heel area is a gooey mess of cream with loose scabs sticking to it and I'm wondering if I should wash it all off and start afresh with the cream - any advice?
Thanks!

left mine on, dont worry about picking the scabs, the cream gets them off anyway, i just slapped abit more on everyday to make sure it was well covered, worked a treat.

Does it matter if the goey mess ends up with mud in it to? I have been treating my horse for mud fever but her heels get so dirty I'm tempted to wash it all off and start again too....

Its really gunky stuff to wash off. I usually massage in some baby oil to lift off the worst, then plaster on more Aromaheel. I try not to wet the skin unless I really have to.
