Thank you all for the good luck vibes for my foray into Division 1 of flyball.
My clever dog was absolutely fantastic. Our Team was seeded 6th in the division with the other teams having a seed time of nearly a second faster than us so we weren't expecting anything.
In one race, I sent Jess a little too early and got a light for crossing which meant I had to go again. Luckily for me the opposing team got a light as well. Jess was soooo obedient and came back to me so quickly that I was able to send her again, before the other team's dog so we won that leg. We also won another leg which meant 2 points from the 5 races.
There were three teams equal on 2 points for 3rd, 4th and 5th places. When this happens the rule is to sort them on fastest time so we got 4th with a fastest time of 18.29. (not bad eh for 4 dogs in a relay situation? (Mind you the winning team did it in 17point something!) Rosettes go to 4th so we came home with a Rosy.
Pointless post really but I am so pleased with Jess. I got her as a rescue dog 4 years ago and it took me 2 years to get anything near confidence and any form of trust from her.A lot of difficult patient work but we have got there now.
Anyway, thank you all.
