Thanks for your advice and help about the Disco, I`ve got one!!

For all of you that read my last post, about going to see a Disco, and when we got there, it wouldn`t start and it was in a dark garage. Well we decided to give it another go and so we went over to see it again today in the light, but took a friend who is a good diesel mechanic. When we got there, it was running and it had a leak coming from the gear box, also had a bald tyre, no water in the cooling system and a few scratches here and there.
She told us that she could get it MOT`d tomorrow, Monday, and then bring it to us. But the MOT garage was a relative of hers.
Friend looked over it and told us to leave it.
So went to look at another one, and friend gave us the thumbs up, it had been well looked after, was very clean and tidy with no leaks. It has all the mod cons with air/con, reversing sensors, sat nav etc and I love it.
Very nice, so now I am the proud owner of a Disco TD5. So I have joined the Disco clique with you disco lovers out there.

I cant wait to tow with it for the first time.

Glad to hear you got one you really like.....there are some out there that have had a very hard life, You did right by taking someone knowledgable with you. Above all you must change the oil regularly in a diesel & the cam belt must be changed at the prescribed mileage....if you have that doen then it should serve you well.

Glad to here it, its always common sense to take someone with you that knows what to look for mechanically .

Thank god My hubbie is a plant/deisel mechanic .

Hes just finished putting a new head into our jeep cherokee and its back on the road as of tomorrow .

Well done, I am blaming you for cursing mine!!

We now have the 'intermittant' gearbox problem back as of last night!

So I am off to the auto electrician this morning

Like I said it lovely when its working, its just that its mostly not at the moment!

Hi, I am answering these as I read them so bear with me. It is the model with the chain, so it doesnt have a cam belt. It is about due for a service so we have our mobile mechanic coming out to do it on Thursday. I have just ordered all the filters etc. It has a FSH and has been well looked after. Hopefully it will be good for a while before I have to pay any money out on it.
