My little horse is in week seven at Rockley Farm, doing fantastically well beyond all my expectations. I just want to thank this site for helping me decide to send him there-eventually! It took me a year to make the decision and I feel I wasted precious time now with the benefit of hind-sight of course!
We are responsible for our horses welfare, comfort and care and have to do the best for them we can. I am just grateful to the people on here for helping me make the decision to approach Nic Barker at Rockley who is truly awesome!
Most of all Pete thanks you all for letting him go to the best pony spa in the country! He is loving it!

I saw Pete's video on FB - what a difference! Hindsight is always 20:20. Please don't beat yourself up about it. I don't suppose for one moment during that year you didn't have his best intentions at heart. You probably did all you could to make him happy and comfortable.

Thanks for that, it was a big leap for me never thought I would join the barefoot brigade! Total convert now IF horse not comfortable in shoes or transition possible. I would never haver managed the transition without Rockley Farm.

I know exactly how you feel, saw Pete's video he is doing so well. As you mentioned hindsight is a wonderful thing.

If I had just listened to vets advice Brigitte would have been pts several months ago so glad there are horsey spa's like Rockley for them to chill out at.

Not long till he comes home to you, you must be getting excited.

The problem is that many Vets aren't aware of Rockley's work, or are unaware of how successful BF rehabs are compared to traditional remedial shoeing. It's hard for an owner to go against their Vet's advice.

And well done you too Bensmum for keeping faith. Pete had had navilox tildren, steroids remedial farriery loads of bute! It is a leap to move away from the vets. Exacly Faracat, my vet had no idea. Here's hoping other horses will benefit because of my experience too!
he comes home in five weeks eek!!!
