Thanks for suggesting a balance strap for encouraging Daisy to work into a contact. I haven't got it quite cracked yet in walk, I find it too constricting for if I need to open a hand or lift because she is still very green on her flatwork.
The difference in her canter is amazing, without me riding like a numpty and flapping my hands around she did two beautiful canter transitions as if to say "well why haven't you just been letting me got on with it like this before!"
YO, who I would have said was very experienced said that she'd never seen one before and that she'd only thought of a balance strap as something that side saddles used. I asked her what she would call it and she suggested "Fred"
