As you might remember ages ago I asked for help finding a good place for a hack on Dorset while I was on holiday. Studland Stables was mentioned a lot so had a two hour hack there last week

I ached for days but had a nice hack with plenty of canters! Thank you all!

I REALLY need get back into practice, I can't believe how much it hurt afterwards

Blimey, that brings back happy memories. I went there donkeys years ago and had the time of my life. Stayed in a local B+B and rode for 3 days. Nice to hear it's still a good place to go.

Obviously improved since I was there years ago. We were grilled for ages by quite a rude man about whether we could actually ride (fair enough, no problem with that, other than the rudeness). Not sure he asked anyone else though as when we went on the hack more than half the people could barely canter. Every time we tried a canter on the beach it ended up with people screaming and crying until the girl with us (one young girl with about 12 riders) gave up and we had to walk the rest of the way.
Highlight of the hack was a brave nudist on the beach - it was December

It was about 8 years ago though so sounds like it has improved - or maybe we were just unlucky.

PMSL hullabaloo that sounds like a very memorable hack

It has definitley improved a lot since then!

I don't have any pics cos I went on my own - did the Old Harry ride so along the cliffs. I rode Oakey, who was very pretty although he did have a little meltdown-ette at a scary rattley builders van (fair enough) and then sulked like a girlie because I wouldn't let him have a snack in on a ragwort infested bit of heath
