...when you go to see your horse and it is standing in a pool of blood with blood all over their face.

Then the relief when you realise it isn't the horse but that someone, during the night, borrowed the stable to calve a cow then stuck the horse back in without cleaning the mess up first.
 
Ha! That would be pretty gruesome.

Pony had an exciting night anyway as they popped her in with my other one while they did the deed and she had a great time eating food that wasn't hers by all accounts.
 
She obviously isn't bothered by smell of blood, good descentising exercise !!! ....think I would have felt sick at first glance till I realised not horses blood though!
 
No she isn't bothered by it at all, they live right next to the 'maternity wing' and so are use to calving at all times of day and night. She has also had a foal herself and she often pinches a calf and mothers it.
