What an absolute fool you have been by forgetting to turn off the isolator on the lorry for a week.... But made 10x worse by only realising after you have loaded said horse and thought now why is the ramp going up so slowly (automatic ramp) que PANIC STATIONS!!!! If the lorry wont start, will the automatic ramp come back down or is said horsey now stuck!!!!

Panic is now safely over said horse isnt stuck and machanic is on the way to jump start.... Ahhhhh what an absolute idiot i am!!!

The real question is do i phone up my mum whos currently on holiday and admit my stupidity of killing her lorry!!! Im thinking nope she doesnt need to know this piece of information!! :P

Do i win the idiot of the day award or can someone top me?? :D

Ha ha!

A few months ago, we went to start the lorry to give it a ticking over before we went out to a competition - wouldn't start - cue Z's Mum coming out, setting up the battery on charge, etc., as Z was climbing into the cab to start it up after the charge, her Mum said "don't forget to make sure it's not in gear . . . " It was. And it was my fault. Earlier that week I had climbed through the cab to get to the living to grab the book of dressage tests and knocked the gear lever with my knee . . . thankfully Z's Mum was very understanding/saw the funny side.

No one told me that you have to have the engine on to avoid killing the battery when you have music/lights on etc.

At about midnight, after working I was sitting warming the car up, when it died. I had to call my Dad and he came and jump started me :( Oops.

My sister once left her saddle behind when we went to sa show which was an hour away...dad unhitched turned around and drove home to get it....when he returned she threw the saddle on and went straight i to the ring and came second

A week later she left it leaning against the trailer wheel at the end of lesson and mum drove over it with the trailer and ppony on board...miraculously ar a few scuffs it was undamaged and we continued to use it

We've had 1 of these situations except my boss arrived back just as mare was going into proper stages of labour cue ramp refusing to work
Me panicing cause the mare was starting to give birth

Poor horses ended up stuck for an hour & half until mare had foaled & we some how managed to start the ramp off to which it decided to work again

Never liked automatic ramps & at that point I realised why!

My two teenagers washed out the horsebox in the summer using the lorries horse wash shower! But they did it to surprise me and flattened the battery, we never realised till few days later till horses loaded and lorry dead as the dodo!!! Still the thought was there!
