That R-store thingy

Can't remember the proper name of it - sort of short rope thingy that you attach to your d-rings and if you feel wobbly you hang onto it. Anyone know how to spell it and anyone got one? If so, handy gadget to make your riding better or waste of money? Thanks.

not sure if its the same thing..Im thinking off but!...
Is it to stop your hands from rising up too high from pommel of saddle? if it is then a cheaper alternative is a piece of baler twine! tied to either d rings.
