When you drive up towards yard and see air ambulance in yard.
That 100yard drive from road to yard was the longest ever, not knowing who or what has happened.

Fingers crossed please for full recovery and that they were just being over cautious for a fellow livery.

It can have a good outcome - one of my fellow liveries came off and her hat went flying (for some reason it was undone - not her normal habit tho), unfortunately this was on concrete. Needless to say she knocked herself out well and truly. Air ambulance, etc, several days in hospital with a severe concussion but no long term issues and home within a few days.

Good vibes coming your way

Thanks, yep her head and neck took impact on concrete floor from a very fast canter, horse cornered to quick and she went off.
Hopefully just concussion and whiplash. I know its a bumpy and long journey to nearest proper hospital so likely being extra cautious and due to speed.
Thanks guys

Sadly update not as good as could have been- broken neck but no nerve damage. Box rest for 6 weeks now!
It shows just how it happens so easily- scary really. We all thought they were being ott with air ambulance. Think a yard fundraising event now required.

A friend of mine had air ambulance out to her when her horse bolted and she fell off, she also broke her neck { no nerve damage} its been about 10 months ago and she has lost her nerve riding now.

Oh no :( At least it's fixable though. Really hope she's ok. 6 weeks will probably drag for her, but in the grand scheme of things, she's very lucky. Sending lots of get better soon vibes xxx
And yep to a fundraiser :) x

Yep she was very lucky and knows it. Sadly i think hubby will make her sell up now, as this is 3rd incident in about 6 months. I think it has worried her too as young child to think of so don't think she will put up too much of a fight.

I love the air ambulance. Their doctors did open heart surgery in the middle of a busy street for my cousin after he was stabbed. Sadly he still didn't make it. I am sitting in a&e to see what my horse did to my hand this morning in tears. OP best wishes to your friend.

Oh my goodness your poor friend. Sending her some healing vibes. Just shows how easy an accident can happen. Lucky some one was there to call for help.

The Air Ambulance are such an amazing charity and deserve everybody's support! I know of numerous people who would have lost their lives if it was not for the air ambulance. Most notably my OH who broke his neck in a cycling accident, sadly he did a lot of nerve damage and is now paralysed from the neck down but if it hasn't been for the air ambulance getting him to a spinal unit in 15 mins he most likely would have died.

He leads a very happy, albeit different, life now and donates to them every month. When he got out of hospital his family arranged a big fundraiser at a local hotel and raised about £25,000 for them :)

I hope your friend makes a full recovery :) xx

Fingers, toes and everything crossed for a speedy recovery for your friend xx

Living in the country, on a farm and having the hobby I have makes the air ambulance the very first charity I would think of donating to. You just never know what is round the corner.
