I had to dial 999 for my mum today, her saddle slipped while cantering and she was knocked out, making horrible noises which is apparently normal, nobody puts those in films! Not fun, not fun at all. She's in hospital now being x rayed and scanned. Most of the adrenalin worn off now, had a cry and still a bit shaky. Thank F for hats though!

Crikey. That must have been scary. Hope your Mum is OK. Have a nice relaxing bath, a G&T (if age appropriate) and try not to think about it too much.

Oh no! ((Vibes)) for your mum! Hope she's ok and you aren't having too much of a shock/adrenaline backwash!

Thanks everyone, I keep being ok than going oh s h i t ! Mum doesn't remember anything so she's fine, and trying to describe where I was on the bridleway to the person on the other end of the line, while holding onto my horse and trying to wake mum up... Haven't really had to deal with anything like that before, especially with my mum, it's the wrong way round she's meant to look after me.

Scary stuff! No wonder you're feeling shaken, but it sounds like you kept your cool and got your mum the help she needed, she'll be right proud of you when she's feeling a bit more normal. Wishing your mum a speedy recovery

She's back home now, very stiff and sore! Thanks for the kind words everyone. Whatever else this forum might be, you're a nice bunch when it's needed :)

Glad she is home now. I can imagine that must have been horrific for you. Best thing to focus on now is the fact that she is okay now :)
