So, I bought myself a new horse about a month ago with one of the reasons being for my other half to ride.
Now, other half can't ride and doesn't think he needs to attend riding schools. Instead he opted for private lessons on new horse at home.
New horse is a well trained 17.3hh TB who knows his buttons.
OH was learning to trot, lost his balance, hit the canter button and did a spectacular dive over and off the big beast. His head scraped across the floor of the school in one of them priceless cartoon moments.
Luckily, all that was hurt was his pride, and my sides hurt a bit....from all the laughing of course. Riding instructor then suggested he should maybe have a couple of lessons on a more cobby type horse in the meantime.
That'll teach the cocky 'I'll be riding better than you in a months time' sod.
ps....don't worry, I only started laughing AFTER I knew he wasn't seriously injured...
