A few days ago, I stated on here that Bernster's mare, who has been semi- retired here for years, had finally graduated to become one of the well behaved ones!
That was a really stupid thing to say...
This pic is her, shortly after I retrieved her from the paddock she'd just jumped into - over the gate that you can see in the pic - because she was cross that the resident event horse was doing some canter sets in the field, and she wanted to join in!

I was standing about 5m away with my back turned - and didn't hear a thing, so she popped it very cleanly!

My warmblood mare would always jump out of her field and do it right in front of you she really had no shame at all, seen her clear the gate and electric fence on occasion and you could never leave her out alone as that was a dead cert for jumping out.

we had our grazing split into 4 paddocks and rotated them, well we rotated them for the others, my trakehner cross jumped into whichever field took her fancy. the fences were just under 4 ft and it took us ages to work out who was pooping in the fields we had cleaned. i was driving past the fields one day and saw her in the wrong field, by the time i had unlocked and got there she had jumped back acting like she had been there all of the time. you've got to love a crafty mare:)
