Today I took my paperwork over to the yard where Drifter is on Sales Livery and turned down the chance to ride him as he is being an absolute saint and I was worried I might get on and start wanting to keep him.

However I did take out a rather scrummy little black cob for an hours hack and he was an absolute poppet and the reason why I am officially wierd is that he was only 5 and hasnt been broken long and there were instances of throwing his head around when he got tired.

As I rode along the track next to a big ditch with Blackie head tossing I thought how dumb is this if I was sat on Drifter I would have been in a flat panic and even tho Blackie is much younger and much less experienced I wasnt frightened perhaps its a size thing as the ground was already a lot nearer!

In fact I was itching to canter but he is young unfit and mega hairy and it would not have been fair.

Cobs have that ability that even when being naughty they make you feel safe!! I forsee a cob in your future lol
Good luck with what ever you decide to do next!!

I agree - cobs rock!!:D:D:D

I got my coblet as a green/unbacked 4 year old and never thought twice about it!!:D She hacks out for miles and rarely spooks at anything - and having a canter is fun!!:D What you have to remember is that a coblet is just an overgrown pony - ride them like that and you will be fine!!:D
